Rita Ora

Rita Sahatciu Ora (born Rita Sahatciu, 26 November 1990) is a British performer, songwriter, and actress. She became famous in February 2012 when she featured in DJ Fresh's single "Hot Right Now" that reached the top of the charts at top spot in the UK. Her debut album, Ora, released in August 2012, debuted number one in the United Kingdom. The album featured the UK number one singles "R.I.P." as well as "How We Do (Party)". Ora was the artist who had the most top-ranked singles on the UK Singles Chart 2012, with three singles reaching #1. Ora's second studio record, Phoenix, was released in November of 2018. "Your Song" was the album's lead track made it to the UK top 10, while the songs "Anywhere", "Let You Love Me" and the "Let You Love Me" hit the top 5. Ora was the first British female solo artist to have thirteen top ten hits in the United Kingdom thanks to "Let You Love Me". Ora was born to Albanian parents in Pristina in SFR Yugoslavia. Vera (nee Bajraktari) is her mother. She is a psychiatrist. Besnik Sahatciu, her father, is a pubkeeper and has previously studied economics. Ora is the older sister of Elena and Don, who is her younger brother. Rita Sahatciu, her birth name, was pronounced [sahat’tSiuHer surname comes from the Turkish term saatci (which literally is "watchmaker") However, her parents also added Ora to their family surname in order to make it easily pronounceable. Her family fled Kosovo in protest of the persecution of Albanians which was initiated by the end of Yugoslavia. They moved to London, England when she was a newborn. She was raised in Notting Hill, West London. She was a student at the Sylvia Young Theatre School for performing arts.
